Kingston Cleaning Services (KCS) has completed a project at the University of Hull involving a number of specialist disciplines.

Operatives from KCS, headquartered in Londesborough Road, Hull, performed window, gutter and pressure cleaning at the campus situated on Cottingham Road, two miles from the city centre. The main university campus is home to the Hull York Medical School, a joint initiative with the University of York. Students are served by Hull University Union.

A number of different access techniques were used to perform a full window clean at the site, where the size and shape of the buildings on campus varies widely. They used abseil techniques, MEWPs, “reach and wash” and traditional pads and squeegees. KCS also carried out window cleaning at the university’s new accommodation at the Westfield site, which houses 1,500 beds for the students. KCS worked with UPP for this part of the contract – UPP is a real estate investment trust and landlord which provides on-campus residential and academic accommodation infrastructure.

In addition, KCS performed a builder’s clean and a sparkle clean of the university’s brand-new multi-million-pound Allam Sports Centre, working in collaboration with construction contractor Henry Boot.
